"Firsts" for us

The husband and I experienced a lot of Firsts this past week. Sounds exciting huh? But not all of them were fun ...

First time for me to work from home on weeknights! That was three consecutive nights working from home and Friday night, I was at work till 7pm. The husband waited in the train platform for more than hour ... and I wasn't very happy either. I guess it's time to start job-hunting again! Something less stressful and less demanding, maybe?

First time for us to attend an OZ wedding! Best Wishes & Congratulations J&D! It was fun ... a bit different from the Pinoy weddings - they served 4 courses of meal and everyone stayed and danced the night away! We met new friends again and our circle is getting bigger and bigger!

First time for us to hire a car and drive on our own! We enjoyed this experience as well as the comfort of riding at our own pace and not worrying about missing the train. Call it beginner's luck for we didn't get lost to and from the wedding venue. It was a good team effort for the driver and the navigator :)

Well, it's also the first time we missed a weekend laundry. We had to attend another party today so there's barely time to do household chores. I haven't even iron'ed the clothes from last weekend's laundry! I can tell my coming weeknights are booked ... so guess who'll be doing the cooking? Hehe the husband's learning fast anyway!

13th of March

12 days have gone by the new month and I haven't written a single post. Sorry, I've just been really busy with work as we are approaching the end of the corporate financial year. This means trying to clean-up project spends and using up whatever's left for mini-projects. I am so looking forward to the break in April!

Exactly 8 years ago on a Thursday around this time, I was heading home from a late dinner date with the man I am married to now. And that was a special night for as soon as the clock ticked 12midnight (didn't plan it this way!), I decided to make our commitment to each other official. We'd been sort of 'exclusively' going out for a month but it was still a special night for it was the start of the rest of our lives. {Since then, the husband has considered Friday the 13th a lucky day for him. Incidentally, he is 13th-born in his family.}

To the love of my life, thank you for keeping up with me in most of the times and for loving me unconditionally. Thank you for all the support, words of encouragement and words of wisdom. Thank you for cheering me up when I'm down and for calming me down when I'm too assertive. Thank you for feasting on food I serve. Thank you for almost always, doing the dishes, my most hated chore. Thank you for saying the nightly prayers with me. Thank you for everything and cheers to a wonderful 8 years and to forever more to come!

I love you honey. I'll see you soon, in bed (wink!).
